The journey to improve upon the class-leading design and function of our D3 helmet was not an easy one, but we persevered and made it happen. By leveraging aerospace-inspired shell design and materials, we were able to engineer the D4 Composite helmet to a weight of 1050 grams without compromising its strength.

The incorporation of the MIPS C2 protection system adds an extra layer of safety, ensuring enhanced protection in the event of a fall. For the rider's comfort, the D4 Comp features a front air intake system that channels cooling air through the polymer center and power grid side mesh, keeping the head cooler during the ride.

To further enhance the user experience, the helmet utilizes X-static® and XT2® anti-microbial/anti-odor padding, creating a more pleasant and hygienic environment inside the helmet. Designed and intended exclusively for bicycling activities, including mountain biking and off-road cycling, this helmet boasts 20 high-flow intake and exhaust ports for maximum ventilation, providing the rider with exceptional breathability.

The D4 Composite helmet also features added EPS and a new headform shape, resulting in improved impact performance. The inclusion of the MIPS quick-release and contoured 3D cheek pads allow for emergency helmet removal, ensuring the safety and well-being of the rider.

Furthering the commitment to rider comfort, the helmet's removable snap-in washable comfort liner is crafted with Coolmax and Dri-lex moisture-wicking materials, keeping the rider's head dry and comfortable throughout the ride. The super-light titanium D-rings not only save weight but also boast increased material tensile strength, enhancing the overall durability and reliability of the helmet.

Certified to CPSC 1203, CE EN1078, ASTM F1952-DH, and ASTM 2032-BMX standards, this helmet embodies Troy Lee Designs' 40-year legacy of racing for the world's fastest racers.
